Internazionale Milano
enjoyed a stellar ride under Massimo Moratti as president of the club winning
every recognizable trophy in football but ever since Thohir became the man
steering the affairs of the club, the farthest Inter has gone has been to play
in the UEFA Europa League. When Moratti was in charge, Inter Milan were always
competing for honours and his proposed coming back to the club means a lot for
the Nerrazuri and all of its fans. How would Moratti change Inter Milan if
indeed he is to replace Thohir?
The takeover by Suning
Group means that Massimo Moratti does not have any shares at the club with Mr.
Thohir serving as minority shareholder.
Moratti is being brought
to the club as a patron and president who has the concern of Inter Milan at
heart.
It seems Mr. Thohir wants
to depart the club but fans would have to wait until spring when Mr. Thohir
might decide to sell off his 31 per cent share of the club.
Club legend Javier
Zanetti is set to assume a more influential role at the club. The importance of
Moratti is to ensure that there is a link between the club and its Chinese
owners from the Far East.
Managing any kind of
business is one thing and managing a football club is another. Eric Thohir has
a done a great job investing in Internazionale Milano and so has Suning Group
but Inter Milan needs a traditional president with experience in football
management. The presence of Massimo Moratti would undoubtedly take the club
back to its former days.
What do you think of
Moratti heading back to Inter Milan?
