Can Carlos Bacca’s GoalScoring Form Continue on MatchDay 6?

AC Milan has scored eight goals in Serie A this season with Carlos Bacca contributing five goals. Other performers such as Suso and M’baye Niang have contributed their part in helping Milan climb the table with nine points. Would Carlos Bacca continue his scoring form or should other Milan players step out to supplement his performances?

It has been a season that was nearly to be forgotten by the two Milan clubs as the sub-par start to the Serie A brought unrest to both Rossoneri and Nerrazurri fans. Both teams have shaken off the fear and the teams are ushering out great performances.

AC Milan under Vincenzo Montella have been playing the 4-3-3 formation with Montella taken a huge step in dropping Keisuke Honda and Luis Adriano given starting berths to Niang and the in-form Suso.

The result has been coming in gradually as the team is adapting to the methods and directions of the manager. If Milan was very active in the transfer market buying new players of top class, the team would have been top of the league by now because in matches against SSC Napoli and Udinese the team played out their best back clearly lacked creativity at the attacking third.

Carlos Bacca has taken all the responsibility with his scintillating runs and his touch of gold. In Milan’s game at the Luigi Ferrari against Sampdoria, his positioning contributed immensely to the goal as he had created a space for himself which distanced him from the rushing defender and goalkeeper.

His long stretch run in the game against Lazio and his composure in placing the ball at the right side of the goalkeeper showed that this season Bacca has taken a bold step in becoming the go-to player for AC Milan.

The season is in its preliminary state with Milan playing no part in any European competition. This gives the team enough time to relax and prepare for matches and especially for Carlos to get into his goal scoring rhythm.

Milan visit Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi on Match day 6 with Coach Paulo Sosa and his team exhibiting great performances amid his wins against Roma testament to the achievements of the Florence side this season. Milan has few options upfront and would undoubtedly need Bacca to be at his very best if the team is to sail through against Fiorentina.

Montella and Milan has been a great squad this season and Fiorentina would prove to be another test that would bring football fans evidence into Milan’s rejuvenated form in the past two weeks.
Fiorentina hosts Milan on Sunday at the Artemio Franchi.
